Anundoram Borooah Award 2023
Anundoram Borooah, the first civil servant of Assam, was honored with an award scheme named after him. The Anundoram Borooah Award Scheme (ARBAS) was introduced in 2005 by the Government of Assam. Eligibility Criteria For ARBAS Program:
1. Qualification & Percentage: To be eligible for this scheme, students need to meet the following criteria regarding their qualification and percentage:
Achieving Star Marks or obtaining a percentage of 75% or more is necessary in the HSLC (High School Leaving Certificate), Higher Madrassa, and FM (Fazil-e-Madarsa) Examinations. These examinations are conducted by SEBA (Board of Secondary Education, Assam) and the State Madrassa Education Board, Assam.
2. Name of Board: Only students who have cleared their qualifying examination from SEBA and the State Madrassa Education Board, Assam are eligible to submit applications for this scheme. It means that the examination should be conducted by either SEBA or the State Madrassa Education Board in Assam. Students who have passed their examination from any other board or educational institution are not eligible for this scheme.
3. Passing Year: The qualifying examination must have been successfully completed in the year 2023 with the specified percentage.
Extra Details of ARBAS Award Scheme
➤ The ARBAS scheme is exclusively for students from Assam who have passed their class 10th examination under SEBA and State Madrassa Education Board, Assam. The minimum marks required to qualify for the award scheme were revised from 60% to 75% starting from 2017. To be eligible for the ARBAS scheme, students must secure a minimum of 75% marks in their qualifying examination.
➤ Award Value: In the ARBAS (Assam Reward for Brilliant Achievement in Studies) scheme, eligible students will receive a monetary award. Instead of providing laptops, the government will transfer Rs. 16,000/- (Sixteen Thousand Rupees) directly to the bank account of each student who has excelled in the class 10th examination. This cash award serves as recognition and appreciation for their outstanding academic performance.
