GU B.Ed Admission 2024: Gauhati University has released an official notification regarding the admissions for the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for the academic session 2024-25. According to the notification, GU will be conducting a common entrance test known as GUBEDCET to identify deserving candidates for admission. Eligible students who are interested in pursuing the B.Ed course must submit their online applications to be considered for the entrance test.

Eligibility Criteria of Guwahati University B.Ed Admission

To be eligible for the GUBEDCET-2024, candidates must have passed a Bachelor’s (BA/BSc/BCom) or Master’s (MA/MSc/MCom) degree program, or an equivalent qualification, from a recognized Board/University, with a minimum of 50% marks (or 45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).

A common entrance test will be conducted by Gauhati University for admission to the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course. Here are some important details about the exam:

• Number of Questions: 100
• Total Marks: 400
• Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with 4 options
• Test Duration: 2 hours (120 minutes)
• Test Medium: English (both the test booklet and OMR sheet will be in English)
• Negative Marking: Correct answers will be awarded 4 marks, while wrong answers will result in a deduction of (-1) mark. Unanswered questions will not be penalized.

Application Fee Of GU B.Ed Admission

To complete the online application process for the Gauhati University B.Ed Common Entrance Test 2024, students are required to submit an application fee of Rs.2000/- (Rupees One Thousand Seven Hundred Only) +Bank Transaction Charge, if any . This fee is necessary for the successful completion of the application and participation in the entrance test.

Payment Method: Candidates can easily pay the application fee payment through an online payment gateway. Accepted modes of online payment include Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.

Please note that if there are any bank transaction fees, students will need to pay them along with the application fee.

Candidates who submit their online application for Gauhati University B.Ed Common Entrance Test 2024 will be able to submit their application from the official application website of Gauhati University. Gauhati University will conduct the GUBEDCET 2024 exam on 14th July, 2024. Candidates can follow the simple steps given below to apply the application form.

➺  Now, Enter your mobile number and date of birth to complete the registration process.

➺ A new form will open in your dashboard, Fill all the details, including personal and academic information & Upload Necessary Documents

➺ After successful login, you will find an option to submit your application form.

➺ Lastly, pay the application fee in order to complete form fill-up.

Other Details of GUBEDCET-2024:

1. All questions will be of MCQ type with four alternative choices of which only one answer
   will be the correct option.
2. The test Booklet and the OMR will be in English. The test will be OMR based.
3. For every right answer, 4 marks will be awarded and for every wrong answer 1 mark will be
   deducted. There will no marking for un-attempted questions.
4. Merit list will be prepared only on the basis of marks obtained in GUBEDCET-2024. In case
   of a tie. i.e. when two or more candidates obtain equal marks, inter-se merit of such
   candidates shall be decided as follows:
   (i) Resolution by finding the ratio of positive marks and negative marks. Candidate
   having higher absolute value of the ratio will be given better rank.
   (ii) Resolution by number of unanswered questions. Candidate with less number of
   unanswered questions will be given better rank.
   (iii) If the resolution is not possible after this criterion, candidates with higher age will be
   given better rank.
5. Reservation and relaxation policy will be as per existing GU rules.
6. Eligibility criteria will be verified by the respective colleges/institution before admission. A
   candidate can’t claim a seat without fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NCTE through his/her
   name appears in the merit list prepared by Gauhati University. College/Institution will be
   responsible for such anomalies detected later on.
7. Application and Entrance Examination Fee: Rs.2000+Bank Transaction Charge, if any.
8. Anything not covered by this guideline will be decided by the University authority at
   appropriate level.
